Gilan province has about 300 km of coastline from Astara to Chabaksar and there are more than 40 species of fish on its shores. The purpose of the present study was to identify and study the abundance of marine fish, estuarine, migratory juveniles and freshwater fish in the coasts of Guilan province. Fish sampling was performed in July 2020 on the shores of Lisar, Anzali, Kiashahr and Chabaksar using a beach seine (6 mm mesh) at a depth of less than 3 m. The results of the present study indicate the existence of 21 species of fish from 8 families, of which the families of Cyprinidae, Gobiidae and Clupeidae with 7, 4 and 3 species respectively. In Lisar coast (16 species), Atherina caspia, Neogobius pallasi, N. caspius and Chelon spp. (2 species) 24.5, 22.8, 12.8 and 9.4%, respectively, in Anzali coast (14 species) Rutilus kutum, Chelon spp., N. pallasi and Alburnus chalcoides 44.2, 11.3, 10.2 and 9.8%, respectively, in Kiashahr coast (14 species) A. chalcoides, Chelon spp., Clupeonella caspia and R. kutum 47.8, 16.3, 10.4 and 9.1%, respectively, and in Chabaksar beach (15 species) Chelon spp., A. chalcoides and A. caspia 44.8, 35.8 and 10.4% of the number of fish caught respectively. Overall, fingerlings of A. chalcoides, R. kutum, Chelon spp, as well as different sizes of A. caspia and Neogobius spp. (Gobiidae) were predominant, their abundance varied along different shores. |
