According to the agricultural statistics of horticultural products in 2022, the area under pomegranate cultivation (fruitful and non-fruitful) in Lorestan province with about 3221 hectares, ranks eighth in the country. Plant-parasitic nematodes are among the most important damaging factors in pomegranate orchards of the country. For this purpose, in the years 2015-2017, 83 soil and root samples were collected from the orchards and pomegranate nurseries of Lorestan province and the information of each sample including the name of city/village, owner, orchard status, tree age, soil texture type, irrigation type and GPS coordinates. The cultivars included Siab-Kohdasht, Gusheh-Shehanshah, Mahali, Rovar, Qomi, Baba Abbasi and Saveh. Extraction of nematodes was done using sieve and centrifuge method and population density of Plant-parasitic nematodes in 200 cm3 of soil was determined using counting slide. As the result, a total of 22 species belonging including Psilenchus sp., Boleodorus thylactus, Ditylenchus sp., Merlinius brevidens, Amplimerlinius sp., Trophurus sp., Pratylenchoides sp., Pratylenchus thornei, P. neglectus, Zygotylenchus guevarai, Helicotylenchus spp., Paratylenchus sp., Criconemoides informis, Mesocriconema xenoplax, M. antipolitanum, Hemicriconemoides cocophillus, Aphelenchus avenae, Aphelenchoides sp., Xiphinema index, Longidorus sp., Pratrichodorus sp. and Meloidogyne javanica was identified. Among them, spiral (54%), root-knot (30%), root-lesion (29%), pin and ring (19%), stubby root (4%) and dagger and needles (3%) nematodes had the highest and lowest frequency percentages, respectively. The highest population density, 1200 juveniles, belonged to root-knot nematode. The species H. cocophillus is reported for the first time from Lorestan province. It was found that three pomegranate nurseries were clean of important |
